Invisalign clear aligners are a great option. Made of clear acrylic material, the custom aligners gently move teeth into the right position. Wear each set of aligners for the designated time period, and then move on to the next set. In just 12 to 18 months, less time than with metal braces, you will enjoy a straight, attractive smile.

Your dentist will perform a complete exam and take impression of your teeth. An Invisalign-certified lab will use 3-D technology to generate your complete set of aligners. For optimal results, wear the aligners 20 to 22 hours a day. You can remove the trays for eating, brushing, or on special occasions. To monitor your progress, your orthodontist will likely schedule appointments about every six weeks. As with braces, you will probably need to wear retainers after completing treatment so that the teeth don’t shift back into their former positions.

Only your dentist can determine if Invisalign would work well for your case. In general, Invisalign can be used to correct issues such as:

  • Too much space between teeth
  • Crowding of the teeth
  • Misalignment
  • Overbites and underbites
